The Academic Staff Union of Universities (Asuu) have carried their matter to the Nigeria government for court of appeal.
Femi Falena SAN Lead the ASUU Counsel to the court of appeal at Abuja the Capital on Friday 23 September, 2022, where they are pleading the court to upturn the ruling of the National Industrial Court announce the union on Wednesday.
The NIC had order Asuu to cancel their strike and resume lectures.
Justice Polycarp Hamman on Wednesday rule his judgement that ASUU would end their strike pending when court will hear the substantive suit.
ASUU close down for seven months now and federal government drag them to court after all negotiations no head.

The National Industrial Court on Thursday, order the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) they would end their seven months old strike. For the interlocutory injunction that the Federal government file on Wednesday, Justice Polycarp Hamman restrain Asuu to continue with the industrial action pending the determination of the substantive suit.
He said earlier that the ruling is for the benefit of the students.
“No amount of compensation that can give the students back their loses”.
The lecturers is still on strike for more than seven months now sake of government failure to honor there demands which they bother on salary payment platform among others – with several comment between them and the federal government that happened but still not work out successful.
The Reason Asuu is Still on Strike
The public universities lecturers they are demandinding the implementation of one agreement the federal government sign with them for 2009 and other things.
One of the major issues that they close negotiation between government delegates and Asuu was payment platform. The union insist that government must use the platform for the payment of their salary.
The president of Asuu, Victor Emmanuel Osodeke said that National Information and Technology Development Agency (NITDA) suppose to conduct integrity test on the University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS) has abandon it even after them upgrade the payment platform.
But Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige says ASUU they try prolong the strike by making negotiation impossible. He explain that, why they insist with UTAS even when they said that he failed integrity test and the people can removed the fraud that is in this platform that lead to huge amount of money.
The rest of the demand inside 2009 agreement ASUU sign with Federal Government but ASUU said that the government still drag them to the court.
