A 30-old woman, Nkiruka Obiama, who allegedly obtained 2.4m under false pretences, on Friday appears before an Ejigbo Magistrates Court, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The defendant, who his address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charged of fraud and stealing preferred by the police.
She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charged.
The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan told the court that the defendant committed the offences on January 15, 2022, at No.16 Jegede St, Akinogun, Lagos State, Nigeria.
He said that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum from one Mr Dele IIoanya in the guise of using it for business purposes and paying back afterwards.
The prosecutor said the defendant did not pay back the money, instead she converted it to her own use.
