The Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa, by the House of Representatives and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) official to deliberate the difficulties faced in evacuating Nigerians who are stranded in Sudan.
It was gathered that the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila issued the invitation during a recent plenary.
The ongoing war in Sudan has prompted emergency evacuation of Nigerian from the conflict ridden country.
However, the N1.2 million plans to evaluate 3, 500 Nigerians via Egypt has encountered many problem.
Some Nigerian students, officials in the last few days claimed that they were stuck at the Egypt border.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Monday, however, said the border was opened after president Muhammadu Buhari spake with the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Femi Gbajabiamila cited inter-agency rivalry as a significant challenges, said, ” The House is aware of ongoing difficulties with the evaluation efforts and the Federal Government response to the development in the public of Sudan.
We are also mindful that some of these difficulties flow from inter-agency disagreement over arising from overlapping mandates and the absence of established operation guild line for such circumstance.
The speaker instructed house committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Yusu Bubba to sent the invitation.
