
Nigeria mark their 62nd anniversary with national event in Abuja, the capital city.
Leaders of the west African country including president Muhammadu Buhari gather all the Eagles square on Saturday where they watch parade and performances that mark the anniversary.
The Military Parade this the high point of the activities of the celebration of Nigeria Independence.



Buhari celebrate the last independence event as president
The 2022 independence anniversary is the last that Buhari the head as Nigeria president.
From the independence day broadcast president Buhari says that he strongly believe that he served the country well.
He spokes about the efforts of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party, for re-setting the Nigeria economy as they survive two recessions.
The president appreciate the practical and realistic monetary and fiscal policy to make sure that public finance management he working well.
And he also appreciate the fact that his administration give priority to the agriculture sector through providing support for the activities of micro, small and medium scale companies and this create millions of jobs.
He says that the government has appreciable progress to fulfil the promise of creating 100 million jobs.

Former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Senate president Ahmed lawan, speaker of the House of representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, the armed forces and some members of the diplomatic corps attend the event.
Heads of Ministries and Parastatals, captains of industries, was also present in the event.
