The Supreme Court has confirmed the qualify president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to run for presidential election held on 25 February.

Tje Supreme Court, in a unanimous of five-member panel decision, on Friday, held that an appeal resistance People Democracy Party (PDP), stand to challenge the legality of Bola Tinubu candidateship, failed merit.

PDP had in the appeal marked: SC/CV/501/2023, desired Tinubu’s disqualification on the suit of vice-presidential candidates, senator Kashim Shettima, that run two position ahead the 2023 general elections.

The court was told that Kashim Shettima was nominated twice, both for senatorial seat and vice president-elect.

PDP advocate that Kashim Shettima was nominated twice, was in comprehensive contravention of the provisions of section 29 (1), 33, 35 and 84 (1)(2) of the electoral act, 2022, as amended.
